We are seeking aLead Power Electronics Engineer to join our team. The position will be considered primarily on-site work. You will work collaboratively with our team to develop innovative satellite solutions. You will be responsible for hardware development during all phases of the development cycle, including requirements, design, implementation, test, integration, and documentation in a fast-paced environment.

Pay Range
$150,000 - $195,000/yr.
How We Determine What We Pay (Compensation Philosophy)
Redwire determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data, for our locations throughout the US. We will evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index, in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company.
For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. Salaries will be based on the applicant's level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and internal equity within the company for the same position. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will receive higher pay.

Summary:
We are seeking aLead Power Electronics Engineer to join our team. The position will be considered primarily on-site work. You will work collaboratively with our team to develop innovative satellite solutions. You will be responsible for hardware development during all phases of the development cycle, including requirements, design, implementation, test, integration, and documentation in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Work with electronics hardware and firmware and develop solution(s) to meet system specifications including performance requirements
- Perform schematic circuit designs and board layouts
- Perform electronics simulations
- Work with the team to draft and release relevant electronics and firmware documentation such as schematic drawings, board layouts, production packages, solid models for use by mechanical engineers, requirements specifications, design specifications, and design documents
- Effectively document electronics designs
- Design and implement electronic power system hardware solutions and systems from requirements to production
- Work in parallel with software and mechanical engineers to develop and deliver complete embedded power systems solutions for power conversion, subsystem power delivery, thermal control, and propulsion control
- Define system-level interfaces
- Write interface specifications for external sub-systems and customer systems
- Participate in hardware and software trade-off and integration assessments
- Develop test procedures and perform initial bring-up and power load verification tests
- Support integrated systems testing
- Perform designs to space derating rules while also using radiation tolerant parts
- Attend project and subsystem engineering and management meetings when requested
- Report design and production status weekly to project manager(s)
- Communicate issues and concerns to team members and managers and support planning to resolve technical, schedule, safety and cost issues
- The engineer will follow basic design standards provided by to ensure acceptable performance.
Ideal Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering discipline, or other closely related field, with 8 or more yearsof experience designing, manufacturing and delivering high reliability embedded power systems
- Experience using ECAD software, such as OrCad, or Siemens ( formerly Mentor Graphics ) Xpedition professional design and analysis software
- Experience developing solar power conversion for battery charging
- Experience with microcontroller firmware development for the purpose of design bring-up
- Experienced in C, C++ or other languages used for creating basic test firmware used in testing microcontroller-based electronic board designs
- Digital and Analog mixed signal design
- Some travel may be required
Desired Skills:
- Familiarity with the derating issues associated with the design of electronics for space applications due to environmental conditions
- Ability to generate consistent production packages (Gerbers) from CAD tools
- Experience dealing with inductive switching and associated transient suppression for solenoid operated valves and small electric motors used in space systems
- Successful application and testing of transient protection for interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Camera Sensor Interface (CSI) & Ethernet
- Ability to apply and test firmware designs
- Excellent communication skills
