Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Director of Nursing to lead our clinical training and development programs across multiple clinic locations. As the Director of Nursing, you will oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of training programs for clinical staff, ensuring alignment with evidence-based practices, regulatory standards, and organizational goals. This leadership role will be primarily located in Fremont, California but will visit clinics in both Fremont and San Jose as needed.

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Director of Nursing to lead our clinical training and development programs across multiple clinic locations. As the Director of Nursing, you will oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of training programs for clinical staff, ensuring alignment with evidence-based practices, regulatory standards, and organizational goals. This leadership role will be primarily located in Fremont, California but will visit clinics in both Fremont and San Jose as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement standardized onboarding and training programs for nursing and medical assistant staff.
- Create and manage a train-the-trainer model to ensure consistent delivery of clinical education across all sites.
- Collaborate with the Quality Department to support initiatives that enhance patient safety and care quality.
- Oversee orientation processes to ensure alignment with clinic workflows and protocols.
- Ensure compliance with CDPH, HIPAA, OSHA, and other relevant healthcare regulations.
- Identify training needs in collaboration with clinic managers and develop targeted educational initiatives.
- Support provider teams in patient care coordination and chronic disease management.
- Ensure proper training in vaccine and medication administration, storage, and handling.
- Partner with the Director of Clinic Operations (DCO) on school-based health programs and community health events.
- Lead the development and revision of clinical protocols in collaboration with Compliance and provider teams.
- Conduct skills assessments and provide remedial training as needed.
- Mentor new clinical and administrative staff, including nurses, MAs, front desk, and community health workers.
- Coordinate student externship placements in partnership with HR and clinic leadership.
- Maintain accurate training and compliance documentation.
- Conduct regular site visits to ensure operational consistency and staff engagement.
- Stay informed on California healthcare legislation and communicate updates to relevant teams.
- Lead quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
Secondary Duties:
- Attend relevant webinars, workshops, and meetings.
- Support special projects and data collection efforts.
- Collaborate with clinic teams on patient care and community outreach.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted RN license in California.
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in clinical leadership or nurse management.
- Experience in FQHCs or clinics serving Medi-Cal/uninsured populations preferred.
- BLS certification required.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
- Proficiency in staff training and professional development.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and quality standards.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects effectively.
- EPIC system experience preferred.
- Bilingual skills a plus.
- Must be able to travel regularly within the San Jose and Fremont areas.
