ABOUT TECHNOLOGY:

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

This Managing Director will be responsible for leading the Technology Segment's Digital Forensics team in the San Francisco region. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Digital Forensics, Courtroom Testimony, Cyber Incident Response, the performance of Cyber Assessments and also e-Discovery. They will be able to demonstrate a proven business development track record as well as a history of integrating with the technology and business communities. The position will require the individual to work with FTI's existing Digital Forensics teams across the globe.

FTI's San Francisco Office is one of the Segment's strongest Offices and is laden with proven business developers, key technical personnel and Segment leaders, making this position one that is well positioned for success.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Serve as the overall project lead on both large and small Digital Forensic engagements, Cyber and e-Discovery engagements
  • Develop and manage a team of experts
  • Develop business independently and in concert with FTI's established Business Developers
  • Lead the on-site collection of data at client facilities from servers, desktops, laptops, cell phones, tablets and removable media
  • Conduct forensic examinations of computers and computer related media; as needed provide expert courtroom testimony
  • Analyze and deploy best practices applicable to the handling and analysis of digital evidence
  • Identify technical work arounds to non-standard data collection and extraction problems
  • Utilize off-the-shelf and proprietary data collection, analysis, and reporting tools
  • Assist in the development of white-papers, published reports, and articles relevant to the fields of computer forensics, e-Discovery and Cyber
  • Develop tools and methodologies to incorporate into current FTI workflows
  • Supervise and mentor Senior Directors, Directors, Senior Consultants and Consultants


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as Computer Science, Computer Forensics, Engineering, IT/Cyber areas, or other relevant course work
  • Minimum of ten years of professional experience in Digital Forensics, Cyber and e-Discovery
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to convey complex technical concepts in a simple and concise manner
  • Must possess a valid drivers licence
  • Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a passport within 30 days of hire
PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Experience in Digital Forensics, Cyber Incident Response, Cyber Assessments and e-Discovery
  • Strong familiarity with EnCase, Forensic Toolkit (FTK), Macquisition, Cellebrite, NUIX, and various Cyber tools
  • Strong business development skills
  • Strong understanding of Windows and MAC based operating systems. Linux experience a plus
  • Strong understanding of and comfort with computer hardware, mobile devices and tablets
  • Demonstrable expertise in collecting data from cloud based sources sugh as O365, Slack, Google, etc.
  • An in-depth understanding of electronic storage technologies such as hard disks, tape backups, flash memory, etc
  • Professional certifications including EnCE / CCE / CISSP / GIAC is a plus
  • Expert reporting and testimony experience
  • Ability to travel on short notice
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
