The Forensic and Litigation Consulting practice at FTI Consulting provides multidisciplinary, independent dispute advisory, investigative, data acquisition/analysis and forensic accounting services to the global business and legal community. About The Opportunity:
Our Intellectual Property practice assists early stage to Fortune 500 companies, and plaintiffs' and defendants' counsel with complex applied-economic, financial, accounting, and valuation dispute and non-dispute related assignments involving patent, trademark and copyright infringement, ITC investigations, and theft of trade secret matters. We conduct complex studies involving lost sales, lost profits, reasonable royalties, royalty audits, incremental revenues and costs, price erosion, manufacturing and marketing capacity, market definition, market conditions, competitive analyses, destruction/ diminution of business value, unjust enrichment, prejudgment interest and discounted cash flows and valuation of intellectual property. We also advise legal counsel, management and licensing professionals in early case / risk assessment, technology valuation and licensing strategy.
A Senior Director will be directly responsible for revenue generation, providing expert witness testimony, and day-to-day project management and the preparation of underlying analytical support across multiple projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
FTI seeks to hire an outstanding, business development-oriented IP economic damages and valuation professional to build and expand the breadth and scope of the Firm's practice. Qualified candidates should be able to generate and manage $1+ million of annual incremental revenues on a recurring basis in conjunction with the broader IP team and have prior expert witness testimony experience.
The Senior Director will play an integral role in building and expanding the IP economic damages and valuation business across all of FTI's industry groups with a primary focus on Los Angeles corporate and law firm contacts. Responsibilities will include:
Sourcing new IP economic damages business in all industry sectors with primary focus on patent, trademark, or copyright infringement and trade secret misappropriation.
Sourcing new IP valuation business in all industry sectors with primary focus on transaction advisory (buy-sell, licensing, M&A, etc.) and strategic decision-making.
Providing expert witness testimony
Manage IP economic damages and valuation projects with support of senior and junior IP economic damages and valuation teams.
