PRIMARY DUTIES:
SMDs have overall responsibility for growing FTI's Corporate Finance business, expanding market awareness of our brand and service capabilities, service innovation, client management, and the development and retention of our consulting personnel. A successful SMD has a market presence and a strong client reference list based on experience.
• The individual should possess an active network of client Board and C-suite contacts, and proven ability to convert client references into new business. The ideal candidate will be able to originate at least $4 million in annual sales of consulting services. Sales pursuits typically involve teaming with others to sell various service capabilities.
• Extensive interaction with other CF SMDs in cross selling initiatives, as well as participation in the development and growth of the practice.
• Ability to build, cultivate, and manage client relationships while expanding the FTI CF client portfolio.
• Exhibit leadership skills which serve as a model for FTI personnel, and which serve to engage and motivate superior performance.
• Recruit, train, develop and evaluate client service personnel.
• Demonstrate project management and client management expertise.
• Lead the production of client service methodology and engagement deliverables.
• Manage client engagement risk and exhibit creative problem solving techniques to address client service delivery challenges.
• Provide strategic insights to aid in guiding project direction and outcomes.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• Extensive experience in identifying, assessing, selling and serving consulting engagements for clients is required.
• A Bachelor's degree from accredited college/university, advanced degree preferred.
• CPA, CIRA, CTP or equivalent certification preferred.
• Minimum of 12 years of relevant consulting experience, including with a nationally recognized firm.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
• High level of quantitative and qualitative capabilities, and critical thinking skills with expertise to drive service innovation and delivery in complex, ever-changing environments.
• Strong project management and leadership skills, including a proven ability to adapt to unanticipated challenges.
• Proficient knowledge of PC environment, including Microsoft applications such as Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Results Orientation: Strong track record of delivery with strong reputation as a reliable specialist, able to meet clients' needs with great attention to detail.
• Strategic Orientation: highly developed business acumen with ability to effectively engage in broader business issues.
• Influencing and Partnering: A change agent who is able to point to a strong track record of delivery in organizations where they led teams and have an engaging, energizing and collaborative personal style.
• Ambitious and entrepreneurial; thrives in fast-paced environments and has a hands-on attitude with an ability to transform ideas into reality through execution.
• Ability to develop creative approaches and the solutions necessary to resolve complex problems.
• Ability to quickly assimilate relevant information in unfamiliar situations.

• Strong leader who is a player-coach and is viewed by colleagues as a good mentor.
• Must be willing to travel weekly for practice development and/or client service, without a consistent schedule.
