ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITIY

As part of the Office of the CFO team, the Business Development Senior Associate reports to the West Coast OCFO Practice Leader and collaborates with the OCFO Marketing and Operations team. The Business Development Senior Associate is dedicated to identifying and developing client relationships across the business development cycle, from client target identification through the sales close process, to grow future business and revenue for the firm. Responsibilities include assisting in the creation and management of client and prospect interactions; management and support of client administration, including pursuits, industry research, account planning and client tracking in FTI's CRM system, managing matter and task codes; and collaborating with OCFO team and other FTI teams to execute OCFO practice initiatives, such as internal and external event planning and support, campaigns and marketing support with a focus on continued process improvement and operational excellence.

PRIMARY DUTIES

• Collaborate with and support West Coast OCFO Practice Leader on practice expansion, marketing and business development efforts, including tasks related to collateral, pitch materials, digital campaigns, competitive research and client relationship management and associated systems.
• Establish and maintain target and client list, including legacy and prospect accounts, and build detailed plans to establish long-term relationships with West Coast OCFO Practice Leader and FTI leadership.
• Track pursuits and perform new clients set up activities, from managing Salesforce entries to drafting RFPs and engagement letters.
• Collaborate with OCFO Marketing team to organize, regularly update and create as needed practice documentation, including professional biographies, qualifications, pitch materials, engagement documentation, and thought leadership.
• Partner with On-Campus and Experienced Hire Recruiting to coordinate recruiting activities and materials for West Coast team expansion.

Business Development

• Lead the client relationship process to build credibility and establish trust.
• Serve as liaison between prospects/client and FTI OCFO practice, establishing and tracking long-term and ongoing relationships.
• Assist in the planning and development of internal practice group meetings, as well as, business development prospect meetings and client events.
• Coordinate follow-up meetings and send out appropriate documentation (i.e. proposals, engagement letters, scope of work, RFPs).
• Monitor, analyze and communicate sales opportunities to support the sales forecasting and planning process.
• Assist with internal communications, providing regular updates to OCFO Marketing team, surrounding business development and marketing initiatives, tracking all collateral requested and provided, as well as outcomes of communication with prospective clients and promotion of OCFO practice locally and regionally including West Cost expansion goals.
• Pursue webcast and event attendance, with a focus on meeting generation and continued learning.

Marketing, Practice Support & Research

• Lead West Coast practice wide client administration, including new client set up, monthly invoicing, follow up on outstanding invoices, and tracking of agreements with clients.
• Collaborate with West Coast OCFO Practice Leader to define and refine go to market strategies and goals, research and develop target accounts & key executives, develop new leads and follow-up on sales leads.
• Establish and maintain industry contacts that lead to sales, with an emphasis on understanding current and up-and-coming industry trends and technical developments that effect target markets.
• Monitor and analyze the competitive landscape in order to help position marketplace presence and opportunities with key client constituencies.
• Collaborate with OCFO Marketing team on the creation of thought leadership, award submissions, marketing collateral, and conference presentation materials.
• Work to ensure quality professional product and delivery of all work within established timeframes.
• Make recommendations and work with management to develop procedures, processes, and workflow to ensure maximum efficiency.
• Complete special projects as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree
• 4+ years of related operations and project management experience within professional services or related industry

PREFERRED SKILLS

• Ability to multi-task and prioritize competing tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Executes with a sense of urgency and high degree of efficiency
• Decisiveness and excellent use of independent judgment as well as the ability to continuously prioritize among multiple obligations and/or deliverables
• Proficiency in Salesforce, Eloqua or related marketing platforms, and Microsoft applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, and MSWord
• Strong communication skills, including listening, verbal and written
• Exceptional organizational and project management skills are required
• Must be able to interact, communicate and collaborate with a wide variety of individuals at all levels of the organization
• Must be able to work independently
• Exceptional proofreading skills and attention to detail are required
• Strong preference for candidates familiar with general concepts related to Corporate Finance, as OCFO marketing is targeted toward Corporate Finance organizations
