Overview

We are currently seeking an Audio-Visual Technician that will be a critical member of a U.S.-based global systems integrator providing technology solutions and services for commercial and government clients.

Working in concert with our foreman and lead technicians, the Audio-Visual Technician we select will have overall responsibility for supporting the technical team.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to read & understand cabling pull schedules, floor plans & ceiling plans
  • Ability to lift 75lbs
  • Troubleshooting skills
  • General computer skills
  • Cable installation
  • Cable termination
  • Device installation
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Possess 1-2 years audiovisual installation experience
  • Familiar with Crestron/AMX control systems as well as Polycom VTC platforms
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must be available for travel as needed
  • Must have reliable transportation for daily work, direct reporting in Washington DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia metro area
  • Relevant experience as an on-site support technician, front-line help desk technician, or field technician - preferred
  • Experience with audiovisual system setup and troubleshooting - preferred
  • Manufacturer training such as Extron, Crestron, Biamp, Polycom, Cisco - a plus

Special Skills (if applicable)
  • Knowledge/experience with control/automation system: Crestron, AMX, and Extron
  • Knowledge/experience with audio DSP's: QSC, Biamp, Clearone, or Symetrix.
  • Must be customer facing- working directly with the client to support installations
  • Compiles and submits regular reports on A/V operations and other work performed
  • Able to understand and comprehend Audio Visual Line Drawings
  • Able to install simple systems without the aid of drawings
  • Able to mount displays and display mounts, project mounts and rigging, projector screens and rigging, speakers, microphones, cameras, and other AV peripheral devices under tables and to walls
  • Cable dressing and rack lacing
  • Able to scale ladders and perform work

Able to Terminate the following
  • RJ45, cat5, cat6 including keystones
  • Speaker end points
  • Phoenix connectors
  • Soldering of multiple types of connections including microphone XLRs, TRS connectors, DB9, 3.5mm connectors

Education / Certifications
  • High School Diploma with relevant experience
  • Relevant technical certification a plus

Work Authorization
  • Must be a US Citizen
