Job Description:

InGenesis is seeking a Paralegal to work with our client The Dept. of Public Safety located in Atlanta, GA. In this role, you will assist lawyers with legal work, including legal research, drafting documents, and case preparation

Key responsibilities:
  • Performs job responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Serves as job expert or organization resource in assigned areas.
  • Calls or contacts witnesses, attorneys, and other legal parties.
  • Compiles and prepares legal documents.
  • Coordinates office activity.
  • Coordinates and drafts responses to interrogatories and other legal requests.
  • Delivers legal pleadings.
  • Investigates facts of cases and prepares case files
  • Scans documents for transfer and file deliveries.
  • May manage databases and/or special projects.
  • Answers phones and provides responsive communications to internal clients.
  • Responds to outside inquiries as authorized.
  • Reviews legal publications and performs data base searches to identify laws and court decisions relevant to pending cases or issues.
  • Compiles and completes documents in assigned areas.
  • Provides administrative assistance as required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two or more years of experience in a legal setting in state government
  • High school diploma/GED and five (5) years of experience as a legal assistant in a legal environment, (OR)
  • Certificate from a paralegal training program AND Three (3) years of experience as a legal assistant in a legal environment (OR)one (1) year of experience required at the lower-level Paralegal 3 (LET032) or position equivalent.
