Title: Program Coordinator, DEI Department: Department of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Reports To: Program Director, Diversity Initiatives Work Schedule: Full Time Job Summary The Program Coordinator, DEI supports and manages various diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives that enhance the general medical education community. This role serves as a resource and first line of support for all technical systems and software associated with the various diversity, equity, and inclusion programs and initiatives. Additionally, the Program Coordinator, DEI supports the preparation and development of internal and external communication while monitoring objectives, timelines, budgets, and when appropriate programs metrics. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Projects and Initiatives Management Manage the interface between the ACGME’s online learning portal (i.e., Learn at ACGME, and specifically the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion resource page) and the intra-meeting communications system (e.g., Hivebright, Microsoft 365 blog) in support of ACGME diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Ensure the customer relations management software is properly maintained and functional; collaborate with technology support to achieve this objective. Serve as the technical resource for diversity, equity, and inclusion programs and initiatives, including for Learn at ACGME, customer relations management software, blogs/podcasts sites, etc. Take direction from the department leadership in the development of programs, projects, and initiatives that drive inclusive and equitable change in the general medical education field. Participate in all phases of various programs and projects and in researching appropriate activities, including assessing educational programs and developing appropriate plans for outreach and support that align with the research and conduct needs assessments. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, keeping all parties updated on project status. Use diversity, equity, and inclusion resources and outcomes to collect program evaluations and develop resources that communicate successes or opportunities for improvement. Maintain external relationships with other health care organizations and representatives related to strategic goals. Support the planning, launch, and dissemination of Equity Matters training content. Contribute to other projects as appropriate. Other duties as assigned. Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required Three to five years’ work experience providing program coordination Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills Superior organizational and workflow management skills, as well as proven project management skills Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat Preferred Knowledge or experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion programming Masters’ degree in a relevant field Previous experience in accreditation, medical education, allied health, or hospital administration Technical writing experience Equipment Position requires the significant use of standard office equipment, such as a computer, keyboard, mouse, photo copier, fax machine, telephone. Working Conditions Most of the work of the Program Coordinator, DEI is normally done in the ACGME office with the typical physical demands of an office environment. During the COVID-19 pandemic, ACGME employees are working remotely until further notice. The Program Coordinator, DEI will need to be able to efficiently and effectively work remotely. While performing the duties of this job, the Program Coordinator, DEI: Will frequently be required to participate in meetings via Zoom or other video conferencing platforms. Note, this is particularly relevant while working remotely. Will frequently be required to sit in meetings for long periods of time. Will frequently be required to sit and work for extended periods of time at a computer terminal using various computer programs and other computer tools.
