Title:                       Intern, Sponsoring Institutions and Clinical Learning Environment 

 

Department:            Sponsoring Institutions and Clinical Learning Environment Programs

 

Reports To:             Senior Director of Program Evaluation, CLER

 

Work Schedule:       Part-Time

 

Pay Status:             Hourly – Non-benefit eligible 

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review and cull appropriate research and literature into a usable resource to support the goals and objectives of the department.
  • Conduct content and thematic analyses using qualitative data analysis software.
  • Summarize and communicate analyses into meaningful reports, data tables, sophisticated visualizations, and documentation.
  • Create ad hoc reports or data files in response to specific data inquiries.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Required

  • Masters’ degree in at least one of the following disciplines: educational research; qualitative research methodology; sociology; or higher education with an emphasis in qualitative research methodology.
  • One to three years hands-on experience with managing large data sets.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to compose and send clear, concise email messages, using proper formatting, excellent grammar, and syntax.
  • Strong editing skills, with excellent accuracy, for reviewing own and others’ work.
  • Superior organizational and workflow management skills, as well as proven project management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and expert follow-up skills.
  • Deadline-oriented, skilled in working under tight timelines, and comfortable balancing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, as well as Adobe Acrobat.

 Preferred

  • Doctoral candidate in at least one of the following disciplines: educational research; qualitative research methodology; sociology; or higher education with an emphasis in qualitative research methodology.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Enthusiastic team player with a strong work ethic and demonstrated flexibility.
  • Good judgment, common sense, and dependability.

Equipment

Position requires the significant use of standard office equipment, such as a personal computer, keyboard, mouse, photo copier, fax machine, and telephone.

 

Working Conditions

Most of the work of the Intern is normally done in the ACGME office with the typical physical demands of an office environment. During the COVID-19 pandemic, ACGME employees are working remotely until further notice. The Intern will need to be able to efficiently and effectively work remotely.

While performing the duties of this job, the Intern:

  • Will frequently be required to participate in meetings via Zoom or other video conferencing platforms.  Note: this is particularly relevent while working remotely.
  • Will frequently be required to stand for long periods of time while delivering training programs.
  • Will frequently be required to sit in meetings for long periods of time.
  • Will frequently be required to sit and work for extended periods of time at a computer terminal using various computer programs and other computer tools.
