Sterile Processing Technician
The Opportunity:
As a Sterile Processing Technician at Saint Luke's Health System, you will have the opportunity to expand your skill sets, work in a challenging fast-paced environment and the support for continuous learning and professional development. The Work:
• Responsible for the processing, sterilization, and documentation related to sterility of patient care supplies instruments and equipment used throughout the hospital in accordance with the AORN Standards of Practice
• Prepares and assembles instrument sets and surgery trays using count sheets
• Verifies proper function and integrity of instruments
• Labels instruments correctly and returns them to their proper location
• Efficient in the quality execution of instrumentation that is directly related to patient safety and department efficiencies
• Familiar with AAMI Joint Commission and APIC standards related to infection control
To be successful in this position, you will need to have confidence in your abilities and strong communication skills. You will rotate through the various stations allowing you to learn all aspects of sterile processing. As a leader in healthcare, we are constantly bringing in new technology and advanced procedures. You will need to embrace these changes and get excited about learning a new skill. We are looking for detailed professionals who are process driven and understands the importance of keeping the patient safe. You must put the patient first in everything you do and always follow processes exactly.
