Job Description
The Diabetes Educator RD is a specialist in the field of Diabetes who is responsible for all aspects of nutrition care for the Diabetes Education Center. Provides diabetes self management training and Medical Nutrition Training for patients and their families in accordance with American Diabetes Association Recognition standards including clinical and behavioral assessment education and outcome measurement for individuals and groups. Collaborates with and is an educational resource for the clinic multidisciplinary team in order to enhance quality outcomes. Documents and bills for service within the electronic medical record. Promotes wellness by participating in Diabetes education in the community.

Less than 1 year
Basic Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross, Cert Diabetes Care and Education Specialist - National Certification Board of Diabetes Educators, Licensed Dietician (KS) - Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services, Licensed Dietician (MO) - Missouri Division of Professional Registration, Registered Dietitian - Commission of Dietetic Registration (CDR)
Bachelor's Degree (Required)
