Job Description

The Opportunity:

Saint Luke's South in Overland Park is looking for a Phlebotomist, Lab Support Technician to support our lab team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to perform blood draws and process specimens. Our lab is a multi-disciplinary and collaborative team with diverse backgrounds and experience levels, which ensures our vision of being "The best place to get care. The best place to give care." The Work :

  • Collect patient specimens in accordance with laboratory's policy, procedures, and regulatory standards
  • Correlates patient samples to provider laboratory test orders in the LIS/EMR
  • Performs and reports Point of Care laboratory testing as required
  • Uses education and experience to identify and resolve patient circumstances that might interfere with accurate sample collection
  • Communicates effectively with nursing and unit staff to relay information concerning patient collections

Procedures may vary pending hospital location

We are seeking a phlebotomist, lab support tech that is confident in their skills, patient focused, positive, and willing to go above and beyond for their patients and peers. Phlebotomy experience is preferred, but not required. We are looking for professionals who are able to multi-task, a need to stay busy, and able to change directions quickly.
