About the Role This Collections Specialist position is within FTI Consulting's Technology practice. An individual in this position will bring a strong corporate collections background to the operations group to facilitate timely payments from a growing customer base. The candidate must be detail oriented, organized, able to work independently and as part of a team of billing professionals. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential as the position requires contact with all levels of engagement professionals internally and externally.  

What You'll Do

Review aged Accounts Receivable balances and contact clients, via phone and email, to facilitate payments

• Establish methodological process for continuously canvassing all of Technology aged AR and performing routine follow-ups and check-ins to ensure timely payments.

• Proactively establish contact points with clients Accounts Payable contact and preemptively ensure access to billing systems is in place prior to invoicing.

• Identify and resolve technical issues preventing client payments (access to eBilling sites, resolving rejection errors etc.)

• Collaborate with Technology Consulting relationship managers where appropriate to facilitate client payments

• Enlist the efforts of sales and senior management when necessary to accelerate the collection process.

• Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with practitioners and client accounts payable contacts.

• Perform all above duties as an extension of Technology Consulting with appropriate respectful demeanor and consultative client service.

• Perform other assigned tasks and duties necessary to support the Technology Finance department's efforts to maintain timely cash collections

• Prepare and present reports on collection activities and progress BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in corporate collections

• High school diploma

• Associate's/Bachelor's degree is a plus

• Working knowledge of MS Office and databases

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Proven experience as a Collection Specialist or similar role

• Knowledge of Billing and Collections procedures

• Knowledge of various collection techniques

• Strong attention to detail, goal oriented and organized

• Able to establish sound processes and routines

• Self-motivated and able to work independently

• Commitment to excellent customer service

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
