The Environment, Health and Safety Program is responsible for environmental protection, occupational safety and health, protective services, and emergency preparedness programs at National Cancer Institute at Frederick and Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research.

KEY ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversees the administration of the policy to ensure the efficient and economical use of company-owned or company-leased vehicles
- In the administration of the policy, may become involved in one or more of the following: purchase and disposal of the vehicles, insurance administration, expense report administration, safety policy definition and communication of that policy, accident review, maintenance policy definition and administration, and interfacing with other departments in matters relating to the vehicle fleet policy
- Develops and administers policies regarding fuel usage and maintenance schedules
- Ensures that vehicles are safe for operation
- Performs inspections of vehicles and equipment
- Prepares reports on fleet activity, including fuel usage and vehicle maintenance schedules
- Determines which vehicles are available for use based on departmental needs and fleet capacity
- Maintains records of fleet activity, such as repairs made to vehicles or fuel purchases made by specific employeesAdministers the company vehicle fleet policy
- May from time to time recommend change in the policy to higher management
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
- Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university according to the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education. Foreign degrees must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency
- In addition to the education requirement, a minimum five (5) years related experience
- Must have and maintain a valid State Driver's License issued by the state in which the incumbent/candidate resides for each class of vehicle to be operated on company business; Must have no more than 3 demerit points in the previous twelve (12) months or five (5) demerit points in the preceding thirty-six (36) months per policy
- Customer service skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
