Position Overview:

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

KEY ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES

The Human Resources Generalist will have a unique opportunity to work in many Human Resources disciplines and work to imbed the core values and employee value proposition into all communications and programs and will be responsible for a variety of activities in the areas of Operations, HRIS, Compensation and general HR administration. The duties will include but are not limited to:
  • Manage the general Human Resource Mailbox and respond to inquiries creating a Human Resources database and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
  • Manage unemployment claims
  • Manage Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Poster program
  • Manage the award programs to include service awards, spot bonuses, Christmas gift cards, and respect awards to engage employees to our core value
  • Conduct exit interviews
  • Maintain electronic employee files
  • Create and distribute internal communications
  • Collaborate with the human resources team with Immigration program
  • Data Entry into CostPoint (HRIS)
  • Perform administrative functions to include memos, verification of employment letters, and miscellaneous reporting
  • Assist with the onboarding of new hires
  • Assist with maintaining the job description database

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

  • Possession of Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university according to the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or four (4) years relevant experience in lieu of degree. Foreign degrees must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency
  • In addition to the education requirement, a minimum of two (2) years of Human Resources related experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook)
  • Understanding of state and federal employment regulations
  • Ability to understand, navigate, and adhere to administrative policies and procedures
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and employee privacy
  • Ability to maintain professional and approachable demeanor to effectively handle employee inquiries and maintain good employee relations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the human resources field
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
  • Experience working with HRMS/HRIS systems (Costpoint would be a plus)
  • Prior experience working in a fast-paced Human Resources Department
  • PHR Certification
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of employees and management; excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
