PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Protective Services provides 24/7 security coverage for the NCI-Frederick campus, the Vaccine Pilot Plant, and the Advanced Technology Research Facility. (ATRF)

Shift: 11:30pm Friday to 12:00pm Saturday and 11:30pm Saturday to 12:00pm Sunday at the Vaccine Pilot Plant in Frederick, MD.

KEY ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES

The Protective Services Officer II will:
  • Perform periodic inspection of all grounds and facilities
  • Control access to facilities through the use of a computerized access control system
  • Respond to scientific alarms
  • Observe surroundings for possible health and safety hazards

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
  • Possession of a High School diploma
  • In addition to educational requirements, a minimum of two (2) years relevant experience in security or law enforcement
  • Instrumentation certification in First Aid
  • Must become First Aid, CPR/AED certified within 60 days of hire date
  • Must attend training in hazardous waste operations at the awareness level
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

JOB HAZARDS
  • This position is subject to working in or have the potential to exposure to high noise levels for extended periods of time requiring medical clearance.
  • This position may require continuous or intermittent exposure to and exertion in environmental conditions such as working outdoors, temperature extremes, humidity extremes, etc. as part of the job.
