Summary
The Assessment Specialist is a key member of the team within Assessment Services. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining examinations for professional certification and licensing, for education admissions and for employment. The Assessment Specialist is expected to work collaboratively, both in person and virtually, with other members of the Assessment Services team and cross functionally with publishing, account management and business development teams in scheduling work and gathering requirements to ensure reliable and valid tests are produced for assessment of candidates.
Specifically, the Assessment Specialist is responsible for supporting the test development, content development, and assessment design teams. The Assessment Specialist is expected to support test form assembly, maintain the item bank, prepare materials for workshops, and organize exam content for test production. Additionally, the Assessment Specialist will support the creation of project plans and technical reports outlining the steps being taken in a test development project.
The Assessment Specialist will also be called upon to manage and facilitate in-person and virtual meetings with client representatives and/or subject matter experts (SMEs).

Main Duties
- Become proficient on Prometric's internal, proprietary programs; follow established procedures and guidelines, and comply with item security practices
- Blueprint test forms according to specific content and psychometric criteria
- Ensure that all tasks are completed according to established schedules, adhering to competing absolute deadlines in a cost-effective manner
- Perform basic research to support the preparation of workshop materials
- Update and manage items in the item bank to ensure all item data is current
- Ensure that the quality of work products is in accordance with company and industry standards
- Coordinate, prioritize, and complete project activities within contractual timelines
- Develop planning documents and technical reports for clients
- Lead facilitation for in-person and web-based meetings for various client-based stakeholders, as needed
- Represent Assessment Services in client meetings and in internal departmental and cross-functional meetings
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in education, measurement, or related field or equivalent in terms of work experience
- One -Two years of previous experience in the test development industry in education or professional certification/licensure
- Knowledge of measurement concepts
- Previous experience with project management
- Previous experience conducting test development workshops as in-person meetings and/or by web/teleconferences
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; able to write detailed reports documenting the test development process
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy; proven dependability and high regard for security
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously, and work under pressure and meet exacting deadlines
