Position Summary:
The Research Assistant is responsible for receiving, inventory and processing patient samples and nonclinical samples generated by Flow Cytometry team. They will be performing cell thawing, cell counting and generating aliquots or processed cells and supernatants. Also they will be responsible for maintenance of lab equipment, paperwork associated with equipment lifecycle and for maintenance of the lab supplies inventory.

Position Summary:
The Research Assistant is responsible for receiving, inventory and processing patient samples and nonclinical samples generated by Flow Cytometry team. Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to:
- Perform cell thawing and counting
- Perform cryopreservation of isolated or sorted cells
- Create and perform first key of data collection sheets
- Prepare reagents used in lab
- Perform equipment preventive maintenance
- Maintain and support safe lab practices and environment
- Order and inspect lab supplies
- Other duties/projects as assigned
Qualifications:
Minimum Required:
- Bachelor's Degree (Biology, Chemistry or Life Sciences) or equivalent combination of education and experience
Other Required:
- Must possess basic laboratory skills and be trained in aseptic technique
- Requires good attention to detail, excellent documentation skills and must work well in a group environment
- Ability to lift and carry between 1-15 lbs.; Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. overhead with assistance; frequently required to sit, grasp, and use right/left finger dexterity; May be exposed to a cold freezer environment (Freezer temperatures range between -20ºC -196ºC)
- Must be able to read, write, speak fluently and comprehend the English language
Preferred:
- 1-2 years' relevant laboratory experience
- Isolating PBMCs from whole blood or leukopheresis
- Previous experience with a LIMS
- Previous experiences with a QMS
