Operations Accounting Manager

Overview

The Operations Accounting Manager will serve as a leader within our accounting and finance organization. This position requires extensive experience in accounts receivable and accounts payable, preferably within the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and a proven track record of managing accounting transaction operations, successfully implementing meaningful process improvements, and serving as an effective accounting and finance business partners to the company's internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable
  • Manage the daily operations of the accounts receivable function, including cash receipts, credit control, and customer dispute resolution.
  • Lead and manage the collections process, including following up on overdue invoices, and resolving payment discrepancies with customers. Develop and implement strategies to increase cash flow and receivable aging.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with partners and provide excellent customer service.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including project accounting, sales, and operations to resolve issues, improve processes, and drive strategic initiatives.
  • Perform regular reconciliation of accounts receivable ledger, matching payments with invoices, investigating and resolving discrepancies, and maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the accounts receivable process.

Accounts Payable
  • Manage the daily operations of the accounts payable function, including cash disbursements, vendor creation, travel and entertainment expenses and vendor dispute resolution.
  • Manage the Company's travel and expense system, SAP Concur.
  • Lead and manage the accounts payable process, including following up on overdue vendor invoices and resolving discrepancies such as rate and quantity differences.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including purchasing, and operations to resolve issues, improve processes, and drive strategic initiatives.
  • Improve purchase order, receipt, and matching processes.

Team Management
  • Train, coach, and evaluate the performance of accounts receivable and payable staff and provide feedback and guidance.
  • Maintain departmental standards and service level agreements (SLAs) for the accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, ensuring timely resolution of issues and meeting established goals.
  • Maintain detailed workflow documentation of processes and procedures. Develop and deliver training programs for collections staff to enhance functional skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field, preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Infor, SAP, Oracle, or other similar experience) preferred.
  • Experience with SAP Concur required.
  • Experience in construction or technology industries with exposure to project accounting preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy and organization.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Base Salary Range- $90,000- $120,000.

Please note that this job posting includes base salary information for the assigned target market range within the primary geographic region where the requisition is posted. If the position is posted in multiple locations or is a remote position, the salary range may vary. Individual pay rates will, of course, vary depending on the skills, experience, certifications, specific licenses, internal equity, and education of the applicant.

Certain roles may be eligible for other compensation such as bonuses, car allowance, cell phone reimbursement, and tuition reimbursement.
