About the Opportunity:
The Senior Global Mobility Specialist will support local HRBPs, leadership, and other internal stakeholders in all activities involved in the cross-border movement of our employees and their families, including immigration, tax and relocation guidance. The role will report to the Manager of Global Mobility and play an important role in continuing to grow the function, educating the business on risk mitigation and compliance, and providing subject matter expertise in the area of global mobility across all regions where FTI conducts business. The role will have primary responsibility for managing global mobility cases across the full lifecycle and ensuring tax and immigration compliance in all jurisdictions. A successful candidate will have strong knowledge of global mobility tax concepts including tax equalization, permanent establishment, and shadow payrolls. The ideal candidate will be highly organized with a strong attention to detail and possess excellent interpersonal skills, cultural adaptability, and proven ability to work across all levels and departments within the business.
Primary Duties:
• Coordinate cross-border movement of employees including temporary and fixed-term transfers, assignments, and extended business travel.
• Consult with and advise the business on complex cross-border business needs including tax strategy and risks, mobility best practices, and internal policy compliance.
• Develop and recommend global mobility strategy that promotes cost efficiency, compliance and employee satisfaction.
• Advise and ensure proper administration of expatriate payroll, compensation, and benefits including shadow payroll.
• Assist in development and improvement of existing policies and processes based on changing regulations, trends and industry practices.
• Conduct compliance reviews that identify areas of risk exposure or non-compliance related to tax, wage reporting and immigration.
• Work with service providers for immigration, relocation, and tax, to ensure outstanding customer service, policy compliance, and data integrity;
• Assist in the compensation data collection process for all current mobility cases and report data to various country payroll managers and tax vendor.
• Conduct pre-departure briefing with employees to ensure full understanding of terms of relocation.
Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in a related field; • Minimum 4 years of experience in expatriate management with strong focus on tax compliance and strategy; • Demonstrated understanding of tax equalization, permanent establishment, and shadow payrolls; • Experience with mobility program design and management preferred; • Knowledge and experience of global mobility management in EMEA and APAC regions preferred;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the proven ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the business and explain complex concepts in a clear and understandable manner; • Proactive planning, execution, and multi-tasking skills with demonstrated ability to operate in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment;
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel and Outlook; • Strong customer service and cultural adaptability; • Working knowledge of HRIS systems, experience with Peoplesoft a plus. FTI Consulting is an Equal Opportunity Employer
