Job Description
Behavioral Access Clinician -Part time Evenings-Saint Luke's North Hospital-Smithville Campus. A licensed Masters degree level professional who provides behavioral emergency level health assessments in collaboration with a medical team of physicians registered nurses and psychiatrists in multiple emergency rooms and medical units throughout the region. Highly trained behavioral health professional who demonstrates autonomy and critical thinking skills and consultation in handling emergent psychiatric crises. Encompasses the role of LCSW or LMSW or LPC functions. Provides timely acute psychiatric assessments and consultation in the emergency rooms served whether on site or via telemed equipment at outside facilities. Responds in a timely manner. Advises healthcare team for complex discharge planning and next level of care and placement issues and follow-up. Responds to requests for resources from the community including individuals and physicians and community agencies and other hospitals. Provides patient and family education.
