The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for maintaining current distribution and developing new distribution that assures a reasonable market share for the Southwest and Mexico region. The RSM is accountable for the development and execution of business plans, related to the achievement of sales goals in the assigned region for both the OEM and Aftermarket distribution channels. This individual is responsible for providing leadership, direction, coaching and specific guidance to distribution partners on behalf of Topcon Agriculture. They will also be a key information link between distribution partners and Topcon Agriculture leadership team.

Scope

The Regional Sales Manager reports to the Vice President, North America Agriculture Sales and Business Development, and is responsible for revenue in the region.

A high degree of creativity and resourcefulness are required to manage a regional distribution channel as there is often a high degree of complexity and possible negative impact of wrong decisions on our relationships with our Distribution Partners, and ultimately our customers.

The RSM shall work with TSS (Technical Sales Specialist) in the region to cultivate sales opportunities with dealer training, platform development and Topcon Agriculture solution deployment.

Additionally, the RSM will work with Topcon Agriculture Sales Channel Managers and Marketing team to develop market opportunities.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Major Region revenue responsibility for the region
  • Responsible for the development of regional business plans with specific objectives and implementation strategies for targeted growth, market share and profitability improvement.
  • Establish valued relationships with Dealer Principals and/or OEM business managers
  • Develop and cultivate a trained distributor network capable of maximizing market penetration.
  • Manage an expected level of overall financial performance improvement of the assigned Distributors by providing business expertise to Distributors and through engaging and leveraging Topcon resources.

Local Requirements

Up to 60% travel is required as is a high degree of schedule flexibility to travel or work on weekends and evenings during peak periods or for key events.

Desired Background:
  • BS degree in Business, Ag Technology, or Agriculture Business related field.
  • Five or more years in sales/sales management experience.
  • Mechanical and educational aptitude to maintain an understanding of the application and operation of all Topcon Ag solutions
