About The Role:

FTI Consulting is looking for professionals with 7+ years of public accounting/auditing/consulting or internal audit experience. As a Director, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of SOX and internal audit services to a variety of companies. We are seeking growth-oriented experienced professionals interested in helping to lead our rapid expansion.

What You'll Do:
  • Support the execution of risk-based operational and financial audits/reviews of critical business processes
  • Execute risk assessment and develop internal audit plan
  • Identify key risks and evaluate effectiveness of controls in mitigating risks and meeting business objectives
  • Identify potential process improvement opportunities
  • Assist with the preparation of internal audit reports that include risks, findings and recommendations
  • Monitor and validate implementation of client corrective action plans
  • Oversee delivery of SOX and Internal Audit control design/implementation services, including control documentation (flowcharts, RCMs, narratives)
  • Oversee staff in execution of control services
  • Oversee SOX program on behalf of management
  • Participate in the execution of advisory or consulting projects
  • Maintain detailed working papers and other records reflecting assumptions, methodologies, and sources of information employed during the performance of all analytical tasks
  • Interact confidently and professionally with FTI and client personnel throughout audit engagements
  • Assist with the development of proposals and participate in other business development initiatives
  • Work with FTI leadership to develop and execute a career path focused on the progressive development of Internal Audit technical skills as well as general business and consulting acumen
  • Assist with practice development initiatives

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or related discipline.
  • Certified Public Accountant or Certified Internal Auditor designation (or in pursuit).
  • 7+ years of diverse financial statement audit and or risk and control consulting experience within public accounting and/or prior internal audit experience across multiple industries
  • Ability to travel
  • This role requires travel to clients and FTI offices

PREFERRED SKILLS:
  • SOX-404 experience
  • Experience in any of the following industries-manufacturing, service, energy, technology, financial services, other
  • Design of internal audit programs and execution of risk-based internal audits
  • Experience with IT controls and auditing
  • Experience preparing consulting engagement proposals and pricing, and handling client billing and engagement budget management
  • Managerial experience overseeing resources on consulting engagements
  • Experience with internal corporate investigations and/or forensic accounting projects
  • Experience with internal audit Data Analytics and continuous auditing
  • Experience implementing and/or delivering services using leading GRC software tools (Workiva, Audit Board, Galvanize, etc.)
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint skills
  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently in fast-paced, multi-tasked environment
  • Demonstrated ability to interface with team members and client personnel in demanding, deadline-driven situations.
