About the Role
FTI Consulting Inc.'s Environmental Solutions practice is seeking a consultant with research and technical skills to support environmental-related projects. The consultant will work under the direction of senior staff members to review and synthesize factual and technical data to develop narratives, presentations, and other work product using various document management systems, electronic databases, and other sources of documentary evidence.

FTI Consulting Inc.'s Environmental Solutions practice is seeking a consultant with research and technical skills to support environmental-related projects. The consultant will work under the direction of senior staff members to review and synthesize factual and technical data to develop narratives, presentations, and other work product using various document management systems, electronic databases, and other sources of documentary evidence.
What You'll Do
- Review and interpret investigation reports, such as Remedial Investigation Reports, technical materials, and lab analyses
- Organize and manipulate data sets to support project needs
- Analyze technical and historical data and integrate findings to produce concise summaries or presentations
- Conduct research in a variety of document repositories to identify and obtain potentially relevant records
- Conduct detailed document review and fact checking in various electronic formats including databases and specialized industry resources
- Synthesize records obtained from primary and secondary source materials
- Develop written work product and presentation materials to support internal and external clients
- Undertake other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications
- B.S./B.A. in relevant field (e.g., environmental science, engineering, geology, chemistry, etc.)
- 3+ years related experience in environmental consulting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and including ability to QA/QC work completed by self and others
- Commitment to producing high quality work product
- Team player with positive attitude and professional demeanor
- Ability to work well under pressure and to work independently
- Flexibility in working on multiple assignments concurrently and taking direction from several senior professionals

Preferred Skills
- Understanding of environmental field sample collection and analysis.
- Experience with public records requests to federal, state, and local agencies
- Knowledge of GIS-related mapping and geospatial platforms
- Proficiency in MS Access
- Experience using document management systems (Relativity, Nuix, etc.)
- General understanding of CERCLA and other environmental regulations
