This position will have direct reports that are responsible for the functional areas. This position is an integral part of the Maintenance organizations.

Summary of Essential Duties
The Director of Materials and Purchasing will be responsible for the oversight and effectiveness of the materials group to include purchasing, inventory control, and shipping. This position will have direct reports that are responsible for the functional areas. This position is an integral part of the Maintenance organizations.
- Source materials needs based on requirements. Negotiate terms with suppliers.
- Responsible for inventory control for the Contours maintenance facility in Smyrna, TN as well as outstations by running open purchase order reports and receiving reports. Will also include shelf-life reports and min/max level reports for outstations.
- Oversight of the shipping agents making sure that the Outstation Daily Usage Reports (DUR) and Weekly Inventory Reports (WIR) are send daily and weekly.
- Conduct annual performance evaluations on director reports and provide couching and counseling as needed in adherence to Company policy.
- Be available to visit outstations to make sure everything is in order and parts are organized for cases where FAA visits may occur.
- Assist the Executive Vice President of Maintenance in evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of the materials group.
- Other duties as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- 10 years in a material management or logistics role.
- 4-year degree in materials management or logistics or similar discipline preferred.
- Previous management experience with director reports in a 24/7 operation preferred.
- Valid state driver license and good driving record required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal delivered with tact and professionalism.
- Proficient with computer applications including Microsoft office suite.
- Detailed working knowledge of Component Controls Quantum software
- Able to pass an FAA required 10-year work history review and submit to criminal background and fingerprint checks.
- Authorized by law to work in the United States and able to travel in and out of the United States.
- Possess polished and professional interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and a customer-oriented mindset.
- Possess strong leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Must have well-developed people skills and ability to work with a variety of personalities.
- Able to coordinate multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

- Be a visionary with ability to clearly see the need for change, and then revise processes or procedures and ultimately implement revisions as needed

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including OSHA, EPA, state, and federal regulations
