JOB DESCRIPTION

Our dramatic growth and diversification have created numerous opportunities for strong, experienced leaders within its increasing team of over 400 aviation professionals, including the need for a Director of Inflight Services. The Director of Inflight Services will report directly to the Vice President of Inflight Services and will be responsible for the overall coordination and control of Inflight: operations, standards, compliance, training and reliability. The Director of Inflight Services will also maintain compliance with CFRs and Company policies and procedures. As a vital member of the Company's leadership team, the Director of Inflight Services will contribute new, innovative ideas and strategies that will maximize the operational effectiveness and financial return of the Inflight Department.

Summary of Essential Duties
  • Observe safety above all.
  • Provide exemplary service to internal and external customers.
  • Directs all phases of departmental operations, including training, task forces, recognition programs, scheduling, safety, catering, etc. Implements policy and procedure changes.
  • Communicate / coordinate with Vice President of Inflight Services to ensure departmental operations are maintained and goals are met.
  • Coordinates with Vice President of Inflight Services in the development of budgets and cost accounting for Inflight.
  • Maintain high level of expertise as related to Flight Attendant Training, testing, checking and qualification. Including but not limited to training requirements, record-keeping, and the completion of training and training records.
  • Maintains liaison with FAA and industry organizations.
  • Partners with other departments involving Inflight interaction: Customer Service, Recruitment, Crew Scheduling, Flight Operations, Security/Safety within the Company to maintain safety and increase reliability.
  • Directs the planning of Inflight operations, staffing, resources, and equipment.
  • Serves on internal and external committees to enhance Inflight operations. Attends industry meetings as applicable.
  • Responds to Flight Attendant needs, questions, and requests in a timely manner
  • Continues professional training towards upgrading performance and abilities.
  • Screens, interviews, and makes recommendations for hiring potential employees. Coaches and provides leadership, direction, motivation, and supervision of direct reports. Appraises performance, provides performance feedback, takes corrective actions, and oversees training and development of staff.
  • Fosters the Company's core values and culture throughout the work environment.
  • Complete tasks assigned by the Vice President of Inflight Services in a timely manner or communicate barriers to completion.
  • Performs special projects and other duties as assigned or required.


Qualifications

  • Be at least 23 years of age.
  • Must has a valid driver license and a good driving record.
  • Possess and maintain a valid US passport or foreign passport.
  • Authorized by law to work in the United States and able to travel in and out of the United States.
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Available to travel as required.
  • Willing to relocate to the Nashville, TN area.
  • At least five (5) years of aviation experience with one (1) or more of those years as a Flight Attendant or in aviation management or equivalent.
  • Must posses comprehensive understanding of the Flight Attendant role, responsibilities, and daily duties.
  • Prior Flight Attendant supervisory experience is required.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local rules and regulations regarding Inflight and airline operations.
  • Must be proficient in accessing, comprehending, and applying FAA regulations and guidance materials as required. E.g., 8900.1, SAFO, Cabin Safety Index, etc.
  • Operational knowledge of laptop and desktop computers, working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, or related presentation programs. Operational knowledge of Outlook is required. Competency with internet navigation is also required.
  • Able to pass an FAA required 10-year work history review and submit to criminal background and fingerprint checks.
  • Must pass a DOT required pre-employment drug screen and w illing to submit to and pass FAA and Company mandated random drug and alcohol tests .
  • Possess polished and professional interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and a customer-oriented mindset.
  • Must possess strong leadership and organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and handle interruptions while operating in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have well-developed people skills and ability to work with a variety of personalities.
  • Must be capable of maintaining confidentiality of materials and information.
  • Skilled at maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Be a visionary with ability to clearly see the need for change, and then revise processes and/or procedures and effectively implement the plan.

  • Must understand, read, and write English.

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal delivered with tact and professionalism.

  • Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including OSHA, EPA, state, and federal regulations.
