An intern with LKQ Corporation will be responsible for supporting the business operation by performing a wide
range of duties related to a specific function of LKQ.

Essential Job Duties:
  • Understands the overall concept of the company, including the brand, customer, product goals, and all other aspects of service.
  • Accepts designated, business-focus projects to research, propose ideas and solutions, and present final project during the internship.
  • Conduct established activities and any added responsibilities which are mutually agreed upon by the student and site supervisor
  • Work on projects
  • Report/present findings to other team members and management as needed.
  • Serve as a resource within the function/department.
  • Maintaining documentation and/or records
  • Providing ongoing support as needed
  • Assume other duties as assigned.


May Perform Additional Duties as Assigned for Human Resources:
  • Support onboarding processes by preparing new hire materials and helping coordinate orientation sessions.
  • Help maintain employee records and ensure data accuracy in HR systems.
  • Contribute to employee engagement initiatives by organizing events, sending surveys, and assisting in follow-up activities.
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR team, including document preparation, filing, and answering employee inquiries.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

Not responsible for supervising employees.Requirements

Education & Experience:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
  • Current college or university student

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Preferably working toward a major in respective functional area

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • General knowledge with coursework in one or more areas.
  • Possess leadership potential and qualities.
  • Works well as an individual contributor or as part of a team.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking and analytic skills.
  • Exhibits excellent communication abilities.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.

Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment:
  • Work is primarily sedentary: must be able to sit for extended periods of time and use a computer, keyboard, and mouse, often.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
