Summary of Essential Duties
  • Assists in the research, review, development, and implementation of personnel policies, procedures, employee handbooks, and other employee communication. Stays up to date with personnel-related trends and legal development to ensure the Company maintains compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Assists with formulating and developing organizational strategies by identifying and researching HR issues, contributing information, analysis, and recommendations, establishing, and aligning HR objectives with Company objectives.
  • Assists in the onboarding process for both DOT and NONDOT employees and contractors.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks, employee eligibility verifications, and motor vehicle driving records.
  • Serve as the Company's Employee Relations Representative by attending and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Conduct exit interviews for separating employees and distribute relevant information to departmental leadership.
  • Oversee and maintain the issuance of Company Identification Badges to new employees and ensure that badges have been returned and collected from separating employees in compliance with Company policy and TSA regulations.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in the use of Company HRIS system (Paycom).
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Serve as one of the Company's Designated Employer Representatives (DER) by maintaining knowledge of the Company FAA/DOT drug and alcohol misuse prevention programs and assist with administering this program to employees.
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications

  • Be at least 23 years of age.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field is preferred.
  • At least one year of human resource management experience is preferred.
  • Prior experience with the aviation industry preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP is preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Be authorized to work in the United States and able to travel in and out of the United States.
  • Must have experience and be highly proficient in Microsoft Office 365, Excel, Word, Outlook, and related software.
  • Able to pass a required 10-year work history review and submit to criminal history records check.
  • Must understand, read, and write English.
  • Possess polished and professional interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and a customer-oriented mindset.

  • Must have well-developed people skills and the ability to work with a variety of personalities.
