About the Opportunity
The Office of the CFO Solutions practice provides a full breadth of holistic, practical, value enhancing solutions to address people, process and technology gaps. We collaborate with the CFO to preserve, create and sustain value and help to maintain performance sustainability. Our solutions, driven by issues that most concern a CFO, include Accounting and Reporting Solutions, Financial Planning & Analysis Solutions, Finance Technology Enablement, Finance Process Excellence, Treasury Solutions and Event Readiness.
MBA summer interns will have the opportunity to gain valuable business experience in a fast-paced, demanding, and collegial environment. As an MBA intern, you will have a unique opportunity to gain firsthand experience by working for FTI Consulting as a member of a project team and assisting in the development of the Office of the CFO Solutions practice. Our teams provide MBA interns with the opportunity to work closely with other FTI professionals and gain from their experience and expertise. At the same time, you will have your own coach to help you identify your goals and develop a plan to achieve them. Regular meetings throughout the summer will provide invaluable feedback on your progress and advice on the areas that need attention.

Responsibilities for Our Interns
- Engage in daily interaction with team members, including professionals from other segments, firms and client personnel
- Conduct research to assist in development of thought leadership
- Apply business, accounting, finance, and analytical skills to various client situations and practice disciplines including, but not limited to: business process analysis, project management, financial, operational and transactional data analysis, financial modeling and cost analysis and optimization
- Assist with preparation of reports, written analyses, presentations, quantitative exhibits, and other client deliverables regarding project scope and/or results of work performed
- Participate in client meetings to review deliverables, project strategy, status, and next steps
- Assist in development of presentations and other marketing or collateral material
- Support business development activities and events
- Participate in regular status calls and meetings to discuss strategy and direction of practice
- Maintain professional image within the company and project the same to those outside of the company
Basic Qualifications
- Pursuing an MBA with Spring/Summer 2023 projected graduation date
- Two to four (2-4) years of experience working in financial management consulting or a mix of corporate finance and accounting and consulting roles
Preferred Requirements
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, multi-task environment with a strong attention to detail
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Ability to think creatively and translate ideas into graphics or visuals
- Ability to interface with team members and client personnel in demanding, deadline-driven situations
- Excellent communication (both written and verbal), mathematical, and organizational skills
- Flexibility with respect to assigned tasks and engagements due to challenging deadlines, changing deliverables, and evolving task priorities; ability to manage multiple work streams
- General knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles and terminology
- Familiarity with internet-based financial research resources, including corporate information, SEC filings, competitive data, and other relevant data
- Proficiency with PC environment and related software, including Microsoft Office applications; strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint and other graphical tools preferred
- Strong work ethic, eagerness to learn, and motivation to succeed.
