About the Role

The Consumer Financial Services group within FTI Consulting helps clients prepare for regulatory exams, respond to regulatory inquiries, and defend against alleged violations of consumer financial protection regulations by proactively identifying and addressing regulatory concerns. As a Senior Director in Consumer Financial Services, you'll be providing regulatory consulting services for financial institutions and supervising day-to-day activities in support of consulting projects.

What You'll Do

• Perform and supervise day-to-day activities in support of consumer financial protection consulting projects including managing client relationships and leading other team members.

• Coach and mentor junior team members and advise on their performance and professional development activities.

• Apply compliance, financial, and analytical skills to various client situations and practice disciplines, including development and review of client compliance management systems, policies and procedures, assessment of processes and controls, and lead or participate in regulatory mock examinations, current state assessments, and lookback reviews.

• Maintain detailed work paper records reflecting assumptions, methodologies, and sources of information employed during the performance of all analytical and review tasks.

• Deliver a high-quality product within established timeframes and budgets. Prepare written analyses and other reports for third parties, as necessary, on the project scope and/or results of activities. Prepare presentations for third parties that may include senior management, boards or board committees, and regulators on the project scope and findings.

• Play leading role in marketing and business development efforts including drafting thought leadership, responses to requests for proposals, and building client relationships.

How You'll Grow

• Develop a complete understanding of FTI Consulting's business segment offerings and use that knowledge to recognize opportunities for FTI Consulting to help meet the needs of current and future clients.

• Develop new business relationships with industry professionals, attorneys and company personnel to grow FTI Consulting's business and work to foster on-going sales efforts to obtain additional opportunities.

• Manage client relationships and lead client meetings and presentations.

• Supervise and mentor more junior team members.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in finance, business, or related field
  • 10+ years of consumer financial services experience
  • 5+ years of managing project teams and client engagements
  • Preferred experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Consumer financial protection regulations such as the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Unfair, Deceptive, or Abusive Acts or Practices (UDAAP), Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA), and Fair Lending
    • Other consumer finance rules and regulations enforced by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB)
    • Governance/Compliance Management System (CMS) frameworks for financial institutions
    • Consumer financial products including mortgage, auto loans/leases, credit cards, and student loans
    • Responding to regulatory inquiries and enforcement actions including those from the CFPB, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), Federal Reserve Board (FRB) and State Agencies
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office products including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Exceptional technical and report writing skills
  • CRCM, CERP, PMP, or other relevant professional designation are a plus
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
  • This role requires travel to clients and FTI offices
