About The Role

FTI Consulting's Corporate Finance & Restructuring practice focuses on our clients' strategic, operational, financial, and capital needs by addressing the full spectrum of financial and transactional challenges faced by corporations, boards, private equity sponsors, creditor constituencies and other stakeholders.

The Lender Services team focuses on all aspects of the transactional due diligence lending process. The services offered include due diligence reviews, crisis credit analysis, portfolio monitoring, collateral analyses, ABL field reviews, back-up manager services, quality of earnings analyses and securitized transaction assistance. Our clients are primarily blue chip, global financial institutions and investment banks, well-heeled hedge funds, large commercial finance companies who provide or need credit facilities in a wide array of companies operating in many different industries as well strategic and financial buyers who actively are examining the credit needs of their portfolio companies.

LS has expertise in many industries including retail, healthcare, automotive, business services, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, wholesale and distribution, and financial services. The group assists its clients with both domestic and foreign-based mandates and have completed on-site diligence projects in most of Western Europe, as well Asia and Australia.

What You'll Do

Our team is looking for strong accountants and financial analysts who are excited to be part of an expanding team. The Director would be responsible for performing the day-to-day activities of a project in directing project workstreams with limited oversight, while supervising and collaborating with other team members and client personnel to effectively accomplish designated tasks.

• Perform high quality client work and help further develop client relationships; including taking a proactive approach and anticipating client needs

• Develop and scale knowledge management; including tools, methodologies, reports, models, work plans, checklists, and processes

• Apply business, accounting, finance and analytical acumen to various client situations and practice disciplines including, but not limited to conduct due diligence on balance sheet and profit and loss statement items, review/analyze financial statements and projections, assess business plans, financial modeling and create work product that is flexible, understandable and usable by others

• Maintain and review detailed working paper records reflecting assumptions, methodologies and sources of information employed during the performance of all analytical tasks

• Work to ensure a quality product, as well as delivery of all work within established time frames

• Assist with preparation and review of draft written analyses, presentations, quantitative exhibits and other reports for third parties, findings and/or results of activities

• Participate in conference calls with clients to review due diligence results

• Identify research and organize information to assess appropriateness/sufficiency of such to facilitate effective data access and analysis

• Assist with practice development and marketing, including developing materials, surveys, events and case studies

• Take a management role in helping coach, train, and mentor Jr. Staff

Basic Qualifications

• 12+ years of relevant experience

• Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting and/or finance or related field

• Experience conducting pre-loan due diligence, collateral monitoring and cash flow forecast analysis related to transactions

• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; the employer will not sponsor applicants for work visas

• Travel required to clients and to FTI office(s)

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA or sufficient hours to meet CPA requirements

• Experience in public accounting Audit, FAS or Consulting environment

• Proficient use and analysis of computer models and development of dynamic spreadsheet applications

• Experience leading project workstreams and directing and collaborating with project/ team members and client personnel in demanding, deadline-driven situations

• Familiarity with Internet-based financial research resources for corporate information, SEC filings, competitive data, etc

• Robust general knowledge base of corporate finance and accounting principles and terminology

• Excellent communication (written and verbal), mathematical and organizational skills
