PRIMARY DUTIES:

This position will support processes related to various expense accruals and prepaid activities for FTI Corporate and other business segments. The position will also support other Corporate and general ledger accounting function to ensure timely close of general ledger and compliance with US GAAP. This position will collaborate with various groups including regional finance teams, HR, ITG, Corporate FP&A and system support teams to ensure accurate reporting and consolidation of responsible activities.

  • Maintain various prepaid expense schedules and record amortization entries.
  • Review large volume of payment activities and invoices and communicate with business partners to understand the nature of expenses and determine proper accounting treatment in accordance with GAAP.
  • Communicate with various business partners to identify and record accruals for outside services, legal fees, computers, employee relates and all other overhead costs.
  • Support improvements/ new business procedures and controls for assigned processes.
  • Participate in ERP user acceptance testing and any related ad hoc projects for ERP implementation.
  • Analyze various types of expenses for fluctuations and in comparison, to Budget/ forecasts to identify further adjustments.
  • Evaluate existing business procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of controls.
  • Support internal and external audit over related business process cycles
  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly SEC reporting requirements for relevant corporate accounting areas.
  • Assist with Budget & Forecast, prepare data input templates and input budget/forecast data in TM1.
  • Perform reconciliations and monthly fluctuation analysis on accrued liabilities, prepaids and other accounts as assigned.
  • Other internal reporting requirements and Ad hoc projects related to General ledger and corporate accounting as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum 3 years of finance and accounting experience required (Big 4 experience preferred). Corporate accounting experience in a publicly traded company preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited University.
  • CPA/CPA Candidate preferred
  • Travel required to FTI office(s).

REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles in the United States (US GAAP).
  • Ability to identify key accounting and controls risk areas and recommend/implement changes to mitigate accounting and control risks
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines.
  • Highly detail-oriented with a critical degree of accuracy.
  • Strong analytical skills and self-motivation to identify and resolve problems.
  • Advanced knowledge of general ledger and other accounting/reporting systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Experience working in ERP environment preferred.
