ABOUT NORTH AMERICA CORE ACCOUNTING:

FTI Consulting's North America Core Accounting Team provides accounting support to our client service professionals and Segment Finance leadership in Corporate Finance & Restructuring, Forensic & Litigation Consulting, Technology, Economic Consulting, Strategic Communications and other Specialty Services so they are able meet and exceed the needs of our clients. Accounting Professionals within the NACA team are dedicated to working together and delivering world class support across our global community.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

This position will focus on Monthly close activities, reporting and analysis of financial results for various corporate infrastructure departments within the organization. The position will also support North America Core Accounting Manager in other Ad hoc projects. This person will report to the NACA Manager and will closely interact with financial system support teams, counter parts in other regions as well as business partners from various corporate departments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Reconcile various GL accounts with primary focus on payroll and benefit transactions, closely interact with payroll and HR teams to resolve reconciling items.
  • Prepare recurring payroll adjustment entries and other recurring journal entries as assigned.
  • Assist with workspace allocations.
  • Assist with legal invoice coding and submissions
  • Interface with Financial system support team to maintain and update reporting hierarchy in TM1.
  • Analyze key corporate spending activities for Payroll, Severance and other assigned departments.
  • Prepare monthly entries and consolidated roll-forwards for Severance activities.
  • Prepare other Journal entries and account reconciliations as assigned.
  • Assist with periodic audit request and preparation of 10Q and 10K disclosures as assigned.
  • Assist with other Ad hoc reporting and projects for corporate accounting processes.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • BS/BA in Accounting. Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in corporate environment.
  • Excellent working knowledge of PC and network environments and advanced knowledge of Excel required; experience with IBM Cognos TM1 or similar reporting software required.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in P&L analysis and understanding of GAAP.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) required to interact well with senior management and others from various levels.
  • Ability to handle multiple complex tasks and prioritize in a fast paced environment.
  • High level of attention to detail
  • CPA or MBA preferred.
  • Customer service focused
  • Experience working with both domestic and international operating units preferred
