FTI Consulting's Core Operations functions provide support to our client service professionals so they are able meet and exceed the needs of our clients. Professionals within our Marketing and Communications, Information Technology, Finance and Accounting, Human Resources, Office Infrastructure, Legal, and Real Estate teams are dedicated to working together and delivering world class support across our global community.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

This position will primarily focus on processes related to Cash for FTI business segments. The position will also support other Corporate and general ledger accounting function to ensure timely close of general ledger and compliance with US GAAP. This position will collaborate with various groups including Treasury, U.S. Shared services, segments/ regional finance teams, Consolidations and etc.to ensure accurate reporting and consolidation of Cash and other responsible activities.

• Reconcile all operating and investment cash accounts for North America business.

• Consolidate and analyze cash reconciling items and prepare monthly reports with updated status for each unresolved item.

• Research and investigate identified cash reconciling items and propose resolution.

• Work with AP to maintain and update outstanding payments records in the system.

• Communicate with various groups to resolve cash reconciling items and prevent recurring issues.

• Prepare Journal entries to record bank transfers, interest, bank fee activities and other cash adjustments.

• Evaluate existing cash procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of controls.

• Reconcile Other accounts as assigned such as Escheatment and Sales tax liabilities accounts.

• Prepare journal entry uploads and post corporate allocations.

• Identify and map new GL strings to correct reporting hierarchy to maintain integrity and accuracy of trial balance.

• Assist with General ledger maintenance and support function.

• Run monthly General ledger v. reporting system reconciliation process and work with system support teams to resolve any issues identified.

• Post tax provision and other month end entries submitted from Corporate Tax.

• Assist with audit requests from internal and external auditors for audit requirements over related business process cycles

• Other internal reporting requirements and Ad hoc projects related to General ledger and corporate accounting as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Associates degree with minimum 2 years of relevant experience required.

• Corporate or General ledger accounting experience in a publicly traded company preferred.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP)

• Ability to organize and analyze a large volume of data using Excel.

• Highly detail-oriented with a critical degree of accuracy.

• Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to prioritize, multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines.

• Strong analytical skills and self-motivation to identify and resolve problems.

• Ability to work extended hours to meet deadlines when needed.

• Working knowledge of general ledger and other accounting/reporting systems. Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Experience working in ERP environment preferred.
