FTI Consulting's Core Operations functions provide support to our client service professionals so they are able meet and exceed the needs of our clients. Professionals within our Marketing and Communications, Information Technology, Finance and Accounting, Human Resources, Office Infrastructure, Legal, and Real Estate teams are dedicated to working together and delivering world class support across our global community.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:
This position is part of a team responsible for the accurate consolidation and reporting of the Company's financial statements (including the documents filed with the SEC), which includes key responsibilities in the areas of intercompany and debt accounting, balance sheet analysis and technical accounting research. This position provides exposure to our financial processes and external financial reporting as well as working with our operating segments regionally and internationally as well as other corporate departments (including Treasury, Tax, and Legal) within the organization.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
• Participates in corporate accounting close process, including:
o Reviewing and recording cash and acquisition related transactions; and o Preparing quarterly goodwill and contingent considerations rollforwards o Ensure proper recording of intercompany wire payments
• Supports financial reporting process, including:
o Preparing footnote disclosures for our quarterly and annual financial statements for filing with the SEC;
o Preparing of the monthly analysis of accounts receivable to be used by management to analyze current balances and review and understand current trends; and
o Testing internal controls as part of the Company's SOX self-assessment program
• Participates in special projects as needed
• Assists with global intercompany accounting, including:
o Preparing monthly intercompany invoices;
o Analyzing monthly elimination of intercompany revenue and expense;
o Maintaining documentation supporting intercompany relationships; and
o Preparing monthly reconciliations of select intercompany relationships
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelors' degree in accounting, CPA or CPA candidate
• One to three years of experience in accounting/finance field
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Ability to manage deadline requirements and multi-task projects
• High competency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience auditing or working in large, complex, and multinational companies
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP
