FTI Consulting's Core Operations functions provide support to our client service professionals so they are able meet and exceed the needs of our clients. Professionals within our Marketing and Communications, Information Technology, Finance and Accounting, Human Resources, Office Infrastructure, Legal, and Real Estate teams are dedicated to working together and delivering world class support across our global community.



PRIMARY DUTIES:

This position will primarily focus on the month end close process, preparation and review of account reconciliations, and management reporting processes and systems. The position will provide accounting support to the second largest business segment to ensure compliance with US GAAP and the timely close of the general ledger. This position will also collaborate with various groups including other North America Core accounting teams, U.S. Shared services, other segments/regional finance teams, Consolidations etc. to ensure accurate reporting and recording of financial results. Other responsibilities include:

• Participate in month end close process, including preparation and posting of journal entries.

• Analyze and prepare account reconciliations, including subledger revenue accounts.

• Perform variance analysis on actual results compared to prior periods and research unexpected fluctuations.

• Perform various allocations including reclassing expenses from operations to various product lines.

• Calculate various accruals including expense accruals and specific revenue accruals for late time and administrative fees.

• Calculate and book the realization on billable engagements. • Perform a high-level payroll review to gain comfort over the accuracy of various payroll expenses (salaries, PTO, etc).

• Assist with audit requests from internal and external auditors for audit requirements.

• Other internal reporting requirements and Ad hoc projects related to segment accounting as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred

• Minimum 2 years of relevant Accounting experience

• CPA candidate or certificate preferred REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP).

• Ability to organize and analyze a large volume of data using Excel.

• Highly detail-oriented with a critical degree of accuracy.

• Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to prioritize, multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines.

• Strong analytical skills and self-motivation to identify and resolve problems.

• Ability to work extended hours to meet deadlines when needed.

• Proven ability to work in a team environment.

• Customer service focused.

• Experience working with both domestic and international operating units preferred.

• Strong team player.

• Working knowledge of general ledger and other accounting/reporting systems. • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

• Experience working in ERP environment preferred.
