About the Group:

The Network Industries Strategies ("NIS") group at FTI Consulting uses economic and financial analysis and network modeling to analyze complex issues involving pricing, valuation, and costs of service across the spectrum of network industries. Our experts provide deep understanding of industries, markets, and regulatory policy, and frequently develop and present expert testimony in litigation regarding pricing, service, and other contractual or regulatory issues. In addition to litigation, we develop and evaluate network models to support investment decisions, asset rationalization, and other business planning uses. We have extensive industry expertise with Electric Power and Transmission, Oil and Gas Pipelines, Railroads, Telecommunications, and Toll Roads.

About the Opportunity:

NIS is seeking a Director with at least 15 years of experience in energy market modeling, valuation, and business strategy. The Director will assist in developing new business opportunities along with maintaining and growing relationships with existing clients. In addition, the Director will provide expert guidance and mentorship to support staff while managing existing projects.

Primary Duties:

• Assist in formulating NIS' strategy to grow existing relationships and develop new business opportunities

• Provide senior input and guidance in developing marketing materials to grow the NIS' energy market modeling and economic impact business

• Author white papers to showcase NIS' capabilities and talents

• Leverage existing relationships to grow new business opportunities for NIS

• Support and develop proposals for new business opportunities

• Manage projects to ensure scope of work, budget, timeline, and deliverables are met, which includes delegating project tasks to support staff and ensuring quality control

• Assist in overseeing the continued development and maintenance of NIS' electricity, natural gas, and coal market models

• Travel on periodic out-of-town assignments and client pitches

• Participate in administrative meetings

• Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum of a Master's Degree in Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Operations Research, or related degrees

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in energy market modeling, valuation, and business strategy

• Ability to work independently

• Close attention to detail

• The ability to communicate succinctly both orally and in writing

• The ability to establish priorities and handle multiple projects at the same time

• The ability to work on time-sensitive, quality-sensitive projects

Preferred Qualifications:

• Extensive experience with Microsoft Office software, particularly, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

• Extensive client network, particularly with energy producers, suppliers, buyers, regulators, technology providers, and trade associations
