Our experts have testified in hundreds of proceedings on a broad range of technical and financial areas across the engineering, operations and regulation of wireline and wireless service providers, satellite companies, broadband spectrum holders, and media & entertainment companies.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:
A Director is responsible for managing, processing, and analyzing information to develop solutions for external clients as well as coordinating the efforts of internal team members in achieving the objectives for external clients. Further, in this particular role, the Director will be responsible for acting as a subject matter expert and interfacing directly with external clients on technical and economic questions related to networks. In addition, the position requires the development of written reports explaining the procedures employed. An individual that succeeds in the position will be able to work independently and to take initiative in solving problems that are faced on a day-to-day basis, continually striving to ensure quality output that can withstand the scrutiny of litigation or other strategic assignments with clients such as diligence or business transformation.
The nature of this particular opportunity is such that the individual will not consistently perform network-related work all of the time or financial evaluation work all of the time but must be comfortable blending between the skill sets to perform analysis on behalf of clients both in strategic and litigation-related assignments.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
• Evaluate network deployment and investment strategies
• Develop and manage large datasets
• Perform quantitative analyses and conduct studies as required by internal and external clients
• Prepare written testimony and supporting documentation
• Assist others in defining data requirements for various efforts
• Communicate findings with clients and external stakeholders including presentation preparation
• Write memoranda to describe the procedures employed to complete tasks and to summarize the results of research or analysis
• Maintain work papers if they are deemed required
• Assist in marketing the firm's current business
• Maintain time and expenses
• Travel on periodic out-of-town assignments
• Participate in administrative meetings
• Other duties as assigned
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Data Analytics, Economics, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, Operations Research or Statistics
• Experience with analytical software, including databases and spreadsheets
• Minimum of 3 + years of experience with telecommunications network engineering and/or operations
• Experience with network engineering and technologies in the telecommunications industry
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP fundamentals
• Experience with routing, switching, and transport
• Experience with wireless communications networks and infrastructure • Ability to evaluate network demand, capacity and utilization
• Experience in performing financial analysis related to network engineering such as performing business case analysis related to capital programs, evaluating alternative scenarios for addressing network architecture requirements, and the like
• The ability to communicate succinctly both orally and in writing • Ability to work independently
• Close attention to detail
• The ability to establish priorities and handle multiple projects at the same time
• The ability to work on time-sensitive, quality-sensitive projects
PREFERRED SKILLS:
• Masters of Business Administration with emphasis in finance, accounting or data analytics
• Experience with analytical software including, for example, Access, Excel, and Tableau
