ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

FTI Consulting's Corporate Finance - Telecom, Media & Technology (TMT) group presents a fast-moving, challenging client service opportunity offering tremendous opportunity for growth in a demanding and collegial environment. The TMT team is involved in engagements that address many different challenges and opportunities faced by organizations, including: restructuring and turnaround, growth and transformation, litigation, shareholder activism and mergers and acquisitions. As a Consultant, you will work with a project team of industry, financial and operational experts to meet our clients' needs. You will be given a Coach and Orientation Advisor to support and empower you to thrive in your role at FTI.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Work with clients and project teams to gather information, conduct analyses, provide meaningful recommendations and assist clients with execution and implementation
  • Utilize a wide-range of analytical tools, including financial modeling, ratio and comparable company analysis, review/analysis of financial statements and projections, assessment of business plans, valuation and cash flow projections
  • Apply education, experience and industry knowledge to assess business processes, propose improvements and design the framework for application of new processes
  • Utilize project management capabilities and a demonstrate a basic understanding of the key tenants of project management


  • Research, analyze, and track TMT companies and industry trends
  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations, quantitative exhibits and/or draft written analyses and reports regarding project scope, key findings or conclusions
  • Organize information to facilitate effective data access and analysis
  • Deliver high quality work product within established timeframes
  • Maintain professional image within the firm and project same to those outside the firm


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA


  • Permanent US work authorization


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preferred majors (not required): Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Engineering or related fields


  • Ability to interface with team members and clients in demanding, deadline-driven situations
  • Ability to use, develop and analyze computer models and dynamic spreadsheet applications
  • Proficiency with PCs and related software, including Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), mathematical and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently in fast-paced, multi-task environment; demonstrate willingness to develop new skills


  • Ability to be flexible with respect to assigned tasks and assigned engagements due to changing deadlines, deliverables, and task priorities
  • Familiarity with financial research resources for corporate information, SEC filings, competitive data, etc.
  • General knowledge of corporate finance principles and terminology
  • Prior experience (e.g., internships) in the finance, accounting, telecom, media, or related fields a positive
